I create these mono-type prints by painting Encaustic medium mixed with colored pigments onto a heated aluminum plate. I lay down a piece of Japanese Rice paper over the painted hot plate, hand press, and lift to reveal the image. I continue to add more layers of encaustic paint onto the hot palette, and onto the paper until I have a finished image.
